Thunder thighs

For those of you who have never heard the term "thunder thighs" I want to give you a bit of background. I was at work talking to this amazing (thin) woman who was acknowledging that she was thin but she still had her thunder thighs (implying they were bigger than she would like and they make her feel uncomfortable sometimes). I was shocked! A thin woman with an area of her body that was heavy! I have a ton of respect for this woman, for logs of reasons. One reason is her candor and in this very instance she was candidly telling me about an area of her imperfection. Therefore, I adopted the amazing term thunder thighs.

When I was younger (and this only changed about a year or two ago) I HATED wearing skirts! They were uncomfortable for me and my thunder thighs. I didn't understand how all these women loved wearing skirts. People said it was so comfortable and so freeing. People told me it was cool in the summer. After every conversation with someone I thought, "what is different about her skirt that makes it so comfortable?"

Tip: Use deodorant on your thighs in the morning! It lasts all day and gives the freedom to wear skirts comfortably!!

A bit about this blog

I am realizing that no one teaches us the tricks of how to act and be comfortable in our own skin. I want to loose weight, I want to be totally healthy, and I want to "make it." That being said, part of "making it" is being comfortable with who I am. This blog is dedicated towards helping you (and me) learn tips and tricks on "faking it" till we "make it."

This whole topic and blog started off with two co-workers both who have "thunder thighs." These two amazing women made sure to let me know i wasn't alone. Furthermore these co-workers have helped me spread the tips to make other amazing women feel better and more comfortable in their own skin.

I have mentioned a few things which might lead you to some confusion. What does Gail mean when she says "fake it till we make it" or "thunder thighs" I promise both will be explained in the near future. Happy Wednesday!
